What does the Hairdressing Level 5 FETAC award cover?

Hairdressing Theory and Practice, to include: Personal Presentation, Health and Safety in the Salon, Client Preparation, Introduction to Hair and Scalp analysis, Basin Skills, Styling Skills, Perming and Colouring, Styling and Basic Cutting Skills.


Hairdressing Science to include: Structure and functions of the skin, head and hair, diseases, hygiene and safety, science behind hairdressing processes and the salon environment.

On successful completion of this course students may be employed

as junior stylists. Students are also placed in local hair salons for

work experience.
